Loudness Is Not Provenance: Reading LUFS in Context

The claim fails in both directions
Human releases have used aggressive limiting for decades, while generated audio can be remastered dynamically. Because loudness is easy to change after creation, it carries little provenance information.
What the numbers describe
Integrated LUFS estimates programme loudness; loudness range describes longer-term movement; peak and crest measurements describe headroom and transients. Each is useful for delivery or mix diagnosis, not authorship.
Use loudness as context
A crushed master may obscure details available to a classifier, so note it when weighing a report. For contractual delivery, verify against the platform or broadcaster's current specification with an appropriate meter.
